Surf Santa Barbara Policies and Procedures

1. Private lesson booking policy:

  • Private lessons are paid for at the time of booking.

  • Requests for changes to lesson reservations must be made at least 12 hours in advance of the reservation time. Requests are not completed until confirmed by a staff member. A $50 convenience fee will be charged for any changes made to lesson reservations less than 12 hours in advance.

  • In the event that Surf Santa Barbara must cancel a lesson due to weather or water condition concerns, the prepayment may be used toward another lesson within the same calendar year.

2. Payment policy

  • Full payment for private surf lessons is due at the time of reservation.

  • The client will be charged in full for the services for which he/she has made a reservation, regardless of early or late arrival or dismissal.

  • Payment for surf lessons must be made via credit card, debit card or cash.

  • Gratuity is not included in the rates for private surf lessons. Gratuity may be given at the client’s discretion directly to the recipient staff member.

3. Billing authorization:

  • By providing Surf Santa Barbara with payment information, the client authorizes Surf Santa Barbara to charge the credit card account. By providing payment information, the client agrees that he or she is responsible for payment whether or not himself and/or herself and/or his or her child attends the lesson.

  • Should the client dispute a charge through his or her financial institution, this would constitute a breach of contract and could result in: legal action, additional fees, penalties, collection, and/or termination of any and/or all current and future services.

4. Refunds:

  • There are no refunds for private surf lessons or any services by Surf Santa Barbara. The client will be charged in full for the services which he/she has reserved and/or attended.

  • There are no partial refunds for any services reserved and unused by the client and/or his/her child/children, regardless of early or late arrival or dismissal.

5. Cancellation policy:

  • Requests for changes to lesson reservations must be made at least 12 hours in advance of the reservation. Changes made to lesson reservations after booking will result in a $50 convenience fee charged to the client.

  • Cancellations for surf lessons made due to illness or injury must provide us with written documentation from a physician to receive credit. This credit must be used within the same calendar year. If the client fails to provide written documentation from a physician, the client will be charged in full for the missed lesson and will not be issued a credit.

  • In the event that Surf Santa Barbara must cancel a surf lesson due to concerns regarding safety of water or weather conditions, the client will be issued a credit for use within the same calendar year.
